Here's a nice, positive, uplifting song from the Jehovah's Witnesses' "Sing to Jehovah" song book. My favorite part is at 1:30

i'll keep this brief for now.. long time lurker (4 years or so).. born-in, elder, used on district level (last talk i gave before i left was the baptisimal talk), and lots of hard time put in...before i finally made the move to split.
it's a long stoy, much like many of yours...but with it's own little interesting twists.
more details in the future, perhaps.. as i said, ive lurked here for a while.. its funny: for a long time i'd only come on late at night.
...right into my arms, where I scooped her up and ran like hell.
Beautiful.
You have a PM.

Welcome. Your third post really packed a punch. Thanks for sharing and thanks for your honesty.
... so i can flippin help tear it down from the inside!.
You're better off where you are. Even with the minimal involvement I have now, it is still a burden having to particpate in the Org in any way, shape, or form. Just go on, living life to the fullest with your newfound freedom. You'll be happier for it.
i'm pleased to announce that despite some considerable teething troubles (of which many of you will be aware!
), the 2011 survey of jws is back on the road!
there is no need for any donations, so none will be asked for in any way, shape or form.
Wow. These comments are fascinating. I can't even fathom the God of the Israelites being real anymore. With that goes the idea that that God is running the Watchtower Organization. It's interesting to see how some believe that God will "correct" the situation with the GB the way he "corrected" the situation with the Israelites. A close examination of any Judeo-Christian religious movement shows me that God isn't a very good CEO. But that's off topic.
As for the difference between the partking and mediator questions, I answered that the partaking issue didn't bother me but the mediator issue did. My reasons for this are: Partaking is a ritual. It's symbolic. To me, I could take it or leave it. No offense, but it seems silly. As for the mediator issue, even though I don't personally believe in the divinity of Christ, I would like to know that if I chose to accept Christ, he would be my personal mediator, as 1 Timothy 2:5 says he is. My heart goes out to those attempting to be true Christians within the JW religion who want Jesus to be their mediator, but are told they can't get it directly. No, they have to go through the "middle man," the annointed, who, as we know, have no real role in the WT Org, which shifts the control to the GB. As I type this, I can't help but feel that the GB have a Playground King sense of superiority. They make the rules. They decide who gets to hang with Jesus. Everyone else should just be lucky to be in the schoolyard.
I wish I could have filled the survey out as an elder but I stepped down recently and now I'm just a humble, low hour publisher ;)

hi everyone.
as a parting gift to you all before i take a much needed break from this forum, i thought you would be pleased to know that the independent, a leading uk newspaper, will be publishing a piece on the "mentally diseased" watchtower article in tomorrow's edition.. i would like to thank everybody who has assisted the journalist, jerome taylor, in his investigation.. best wishes to all of you,.
cedars.
I tend to look at it in terms of "if we can accomplish this much with minimal effort, what might we achieve if we REALLY try?!"
Good point, Cedars.
i have been inspired recently by some of the comments on this forum regarding the society having reached a "tipping point".
it's been observed that, despite the overwhelming weight of evidence that the society is nothing more than a damaging cult, the number of witnesses continues to increase, albeit gradually.
the latest figures i have available are those in the 2011 yearbook, showing a global 2.5% increase between 2009 and 2010.. as we all know, the internet is steadily rising in accessibility (or "penetration") around the world, and it provides a wonderful resource for those who are curious about joining the faith, helping such ones to quickly identify precisely how warped the teachings of the watch tower society really are.
Cedars, your work recently has been astounding. Because of that, your profile may rise. Your comments on this board were already quoted on a JW apologist website. I am just being extra cautious. I don't want anyone looking for the "truth about 'The Truth'" to be turned off by an out-of-context quote.

Cedars, interesting work here. I think these numbers would apply to religion in general too.
One comment struck me as off balance: "Basically, the more ignorant a country's populace is, the more fertile hunting grounds this will be for the local publishers." I am certain you didn't mean to call the population ignorant in general. Given the theme of the post I will take it to mean that they may be unaware of the true story of the Watchtower Organization. Perhaps wording it this way would avoid confusion and free the post of what could be called unkind language: Basically, the less access to the internet and other sources of mass media a country has, the more fertile hunting grounds this will be for the local publishers.
police minister peter ryan has written a letter to mr unthank advising that jw's are now applying, in mass, for the wwc in victoria.
to little to late.
criminal charges still stand and cannot be backdated!
